Everyone knows that eating more vegetables is good for us. The key is to cook them the right way with the proper seasoning to make them a joy to eat, right? That’s where air frying delivers the goods.
Easy air fryer green beans have quickly become my go-to side dish recipe. Here’s why:
- It only takes 15 minutes to make. After prepping the green beans, they are cooked and ready to serve in just 10 minutes.
- Air frying is an ideal cooking method. The beans are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
- You can serve them at any meal. Whether it’s a busy weeknight dinner for two or the family and even for a holiday, this recipe is a winner.
Simple Ingredients You Need For This Recipe
- Fresh green beans – washed and trimmed
- Olive Oil
- Lemon Juice
- Grated Parmesan Cheese
- Garlic Powder
- Kosher Salt
- Fresh Cracked Pepper
How To Make The Best Air Fryer Green Beans
- The prep time for this recipe is about 5 minutes. First, wash and dry them. Cut the tips off and put them in a large bowl. To flavor the beans, drizzle on olive oil and lemon juice, sprinkle on garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese, then toss to coat.
- Add the beans in a single layer to the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd. Set the temperature to 370 degrees and cook for 5 minutes. Shake the basket, then continue to cook for another 5 minutes until the beans are crispy and tender on the inside. The total time is 10 minutes.
- When the beans have finished cooking, remove them to a serving plate and season to taste with more salt and pepper. I also give a nice squeeze of fresh lemon juice and more Parmesan cheese.
If you want to change things up a bit, add your favorite spices, like chili powder or red pepper flakes, for a bit of heat. Fresh lemon zest is also a great addition.
How To Store Leftovers
Place any leftover green beans in an airtight container. They will keep in the fridge for up to three days.
How Long Do Green Beans Cook In The Air Fryer?
This recipe really is quick. The green beans are cooked at 370 degrees for 10 minutes. Set the timer for 5 minutes. Shake the basket and cook for another 5 minutes.
Can Frozen Green Beans Be Used?
I have always used fresh green beans, but if they are unavailable, you can use frozen ones. Thaw the beans, then dry them with a kitchen or paper towel. Let them air dry on the counter before cooking.
This recipe has quickly become one of my family’s favorite green bean recipes, but sometimes it’s good to change things up. They also love my Southern Style Green Beans and Skillet Green Beans.
